And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
Will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
~ Phillipians 4:7
Annie Ruth Dawson, daughter of the late Richard and Beatrice Johnson Dawson, was born October 23, 1952, in Southampton County, Virginia.
Annie was educated in the Southampton County Public Schools. Upon graduation, she relocated to New York and then Baltimore, Maryland, where she furthered her studies. She worked to make a living for her family and thoroughly enjoyed life. After the birth of three daughters, Annie returned to Southampton County, to be closer to her family.
Annie believed in God, with all her heart. It was proven through her actions and the love for her children, grandchildren and others. She had strong faith and prayed continuously. At night, she could be found reading her bible or just talking to her Heavenly Father. Annie enjoyed the simple things in life. Spending time with her grandbabies and knowing her daughters were doing good for themselves, gave her great joy.
On Sunday, January 7, 2018, while at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Virginia, ,God in his infinite wisdom, called Annie home to rest. "Come ye, blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you."
Although her sudden passing, has left us beyond hurt and even confused; we can only look to the hills from whence all our help comes and pray that He will help us through it all. Bowing in humble submission to the will of God are: three daughters, Brittany Ramsey (Kayla Suttles) of Petersburg, Virginia, Breanna Dawson (Mario Finney, Sr.) of Boykins, Virginia and Brene' Dawson of Petersburg, Virginia, two grandchildren, Niyana Dawson and Mario Finney, Jr.; three brothers, Harold Dawson of Branchville, Virginia, Grayling Dawson (Danielle) of Stem, North Carolina and Jessie Lee Dawson (Carrie) of Franklin, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
