      Calvin Evone White,  began his journey through life on May 17, 1959, in Bertie County, North Carolina.  He was the son of the late Ernest White and Maggie Holley White. 
      Calvin was educated in the Bertie County Public School System, graduating from  Bertie County High School.  In 1981, upon graduation, he  gained employment with Perdue Farms, Lewiston, North Carolina.  In 2000, Calvin became employed with Gwaltney in Smithfield, North Carolina  (now Smithfield Foods), where he worked until his health began to fail.   
       Calvin was large in stature and had a of gold.  He  never complained about anything and stood willing and ready to lend a helping hand.  His hobbies included:  playing basketball, washing his car, watching wrestling on television and mowing the lawn.  He also loved listening to music by Keith Sweat and R. Kelly. 
       On Friday, April 7, 2017, Calvin peacefully slipped into eternal slumber at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, North Carolina.  In addition to his parents,  he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ola Mae Barber, whom loved him like her own son. 
      Calvin leaves not to mourn his passing, but to cherish many fond memories: his wife of 13 years, Shirley White of the home; four sisters, Mary Delores White of Baltimore, Maryland, Patricia Griffin (Frankie) of Williamston, North Carolina, Linette Gaunichaux (Anthony) and Jeanette Blackwell (Marcus) of Middletown, Connecticut; two brothers, Willie Ray White of Colerain, North Carolina and Alex White of Middletown, Connecticut; his aunts and uncle, Lillie Mae Mebane, Louvenia Holley, Pearl Holley  and Gilbert Andrew Holley all of Colerain, North Carolina; his in-laws,  Dorothy Daniels (Herman), Rose Barber, Gladys Barber Jones (Jimmie) and Vivian Barber all of Garysburg, North Carolina, Glenda Barber Deloatch of Seaboard, North Carolina, Austin 'Bill' Barber (Teresa) of Currie, North Carolina, Martha Williams and  Otelia Edwards both of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Russell 'Dean-Bo'  (Crystal) Barber  of Roxobel, North Carolina, Floyd Junior Barber (Patricia) of Nashville, North Carolina, Larry 'Bo-Bo' Barber (Nell) of Jackson, North Carolina and  Melvin Barber (Elsie) of Margarettsville, North Carolina; a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
