And no resident will say: " I am sick."
The people dwelling in the land will be pardoned for their error.
~Isaiah 33: 24
James Henry Suiter, was born on Wednesday, January 31, 1923 in Southampton County, Virginia. He was the last surviving child of four born to the parentage of Winsor Suiter, Sr. and Maude Harris Suiter. James was reared in the Branchville/Boykins community. Most of his adult life was spent in North Carolina.
At a young age, James accepted Christ, was baptized and he united in Christian Fellowship with New Bethel Baptist Church, where he faithfully attended and continued to do so until his health prevented him from attending. James loved to sing and participated in several singing groups throughout the area, which ministered at church, nursing homes and other venues. One of his favorite songs was, "I Want To Be At The Meeting", which many friends and family enjoyed him singing.
James touched the lives of many in several ways and was regarded as a person to whom one could count on when needed. He had a great sense of humor and a quick answer to any question. His home was open is you need a meal or a place to stay. As the years progressed, he was fondly identified by the blue pickup truck that would stall the traffic.
On Thursday, April 19, 2018, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, James Henry Suiter, peacefully departed this earthly life, at the grand age of 95. In addition his his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nannie Cooper and three siblings, Addelle, Winsor, Jr. and Lillian.
James leave not to mourn his passing, but to cherish many fond memories: his wife of 71 years, Helen Suiter; two sons, David Morris (Eva) and Richard Morris, Sr. (Arlean); a daughter, Cathlene Suiter; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; seven great, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
~ Revelation 21: 3-4
