Jermaine Garner

Jermaine Garner, 28, of Seaboard, North Carolina departed this earthly life on Friday, June 16, 2017, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

​Jermaine, the son of Sandra Faye Garner and the late Rudolph Ponton, was born July 10, 1988, in Halifax, North Carolina.

​'Maine', as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. Early in life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Seaboard, North Carolina. Maine became a member of the youth choir and faithfully sang until he became an adult. He was currently employed at McLane Company. Maine enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Everyone he met was a friend to him. He loved people in general. He also loved fishing, drawing, and listening to music, lifting weights and his favorite, which was eating.

​He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Sandra Garner of the home; three children, Jermya Garner, and Daren Garner of Mapleton, NC, and Ta'Kyiah Scott of Garysburg, NC; three siblings, Gloria Faye Garner of the home, Michael Branch (Kenya) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Tedra Hayden (Anthony) of Woodbridge, VA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
