Lucille B. (Barnes) Ivey

      Lucille Barnes Ivey,  daughter of the late Robert and Viola Hargrove Barnes, was born August 13, 1928, in Northampton County, North Carolina. 
      Lucille was educated in the Northampton County Public Schools; graduating from Coates High School, Seaboard, North Carolina.  At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Seaboard, North Carolina.  Lucille taught Sunday School and was a very active member until her demise. 
      Lucille was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Fred Douglas Ivey.  They shared forty-one years of marriage together.  After her marriage to Fred, Lucille united in Christ Fellowship with  Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Garysburg, North Carolina, where she served the Usher's Ministry for thirty-one years. She truly loved her community, church and her church family.
       Lucille loved people and treated everyone like they were family. Her best known phrase was, "We're all God's family".  She was one who never complained about her illness or circumstance.  She had a special way of capturing the hearts of all who she came in contact with. She had a passion for cooking and used her culinary skills at Margie's Coffee Shop, for many years.  She was also employed at Blue Flame and The Great Escape.  Lucille was also a dedicated member of Delta Chapter #621 Order of Eastern Star.   
       On Monday, December 18, 2017, while at Signature Health Care Center, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; God in his infinite wisdom,  called Lucille home to rest.  "Come ye, blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you."  
       Precious memories, Oh how they will forever linger in the hearts of: her beloved niece and nephew, Carolyn (Johnnie) Lassiter and Charles Wayne (LaVern) Barnes; four great-nieces, Kimberly, Jasmine, Sherita and Shonda; her extended family, who stood close by her, until the end, Charlotte McCurdy of Garysburg, North Carolina, Jacqueline P. Henderson, Marco Everette, Claristine Hargrove and Dorothy Jordan all of Seaboard, North Carolina; a host of special relatives and friends.
