Mae Alice  Richards, 83, of Salisbury, Maryland and a native of Emporia, Virginia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Coastal Hospice At The lake, Salisbury, Maryland.

Mae was born Friday, August 4, 1933, in Emporia, Virginia, to the parentage of the late Charles Jones Person and Nora Anne Rooks Williams.  She was married to the late Stanley W. Richards. She accepted Christ early in life and loved the Lord to the fullest.

​Mae moved to Seaboard, NC after marrying Carlie Vincent (deceased) at the age of 16, from this union 3 children were born (Calvin, Melvin, and Marie). After NC, Mae moved to Washington, D.C.; then to Laurel, MD where she married Stanley Richards (deceased); from this union, one daughter was born (Charmayne).

​During her lifetime, Mae worked various jobs as a maid, short order cook, entrepreneur and finally a Division Manager at GEICO Insurance Co. where she retired in June 1996 after 25 years of service. Mae was a bold, strong, independent, determined woman and very successful in her endeavors. After her retirement, she decided to purchase a home and settle down in Salisbury MD where she fully enjoyed her retirement. Part of her retirement included traveling. She loved to travel and go sightseeing in various states as well as Canada. She is leaving her grandchildren with many beloved memories of their summertime adventures.

​Mae Alice was a loving, caring, and wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be missed beyond words! God called His beautiful flower and devoted servant home on June 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by one sibling, Dathia Rose Artist.

​Mae leave to cherish her numerous loving memories her son Calvin Vincent (Sylvia) - Suffolk, VA; son Melvin Vincent - Salisbury, MD; daughter K. Marie Edgerton-Vineland, NJ; daughter Charmayne Walker-Silver - Silver Spring, MD; brother Robert Williams - Rocky Mount, NC; 6 grandchildren Kevin Vincent, Kelly Vincent, Clyde Douglas, Ray Edgerton, Jr., Kristen Edgerton and Patrick Green, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed!
