Mary Katherine Ford

     Mary Katherine Ford, began her earthly pilgrimage on April 1, 1942, in Capron, (Southampton County) Virginia.  She was born to the parentage of the late Alexander Ford and Lizzie Johnson Ford-Edwards.

​      Mary was educated in the Northampton County Public School System.  She relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where she became employed with Hartford Gardens Nursing Home.  She remained a dedicated a loyal employee, until her untimely departure. 

​      Mary had a love for cooking.  Her specialty were: baked hens, stuffing, and pineapple cake (about 15 layers high).  She love playing dress-up, with her make up and jewelry and dipping her  square snuff.  In addition to her own, Mary loved and cared for everybody's children.  Her grandchildren brought her much pride and joy.  She had a strong voice and wasn't afraid to say what was on her mind. 

​      On Tuesday, August 8, 2017, our dear loved one peacefully answered the Master's call from earthly labor unto eternal rest.  In addition to her parents, Mary  was also preceded in death by:  her step-father, George Edwards; and thirteen siblings, Nannie Banks, Margie Staten, Roberta Ford, Lucille Mason, Minnie Williams, Ernestine Hayes, George Ford, Otis Ford, Wallace Edwards, Howard Edwards, Wilson Edwards  and June Edwards.

​      Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of:  her son, Randolph Gary Ford, Sr.; one granddaughter, Petrina Ford; two grandsons, Randolph Gary Ford, Jr. and Alexander Ford; one great-granddaughter, Maiana Harcum; one great-grandson, Ji'Air Ford; her siblings, Mable Ford, Virginia Ford, Mattie Moore (James), Linda Johnson-Marsh (Grady), William 'Bud' Edwards; one sister-in-law, Virgie Branch-Ford; one brother-in-law, William Banks; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
