Sarah Frances Boynton Brooks,  began her journey through life on July 10, 1942, in Alabama.  She was the daughter of the late Mary Boynton.
Over her lifetime, she was a mother to many people, rearing her children and helping to rear her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In earlier years, she really enjoyed and had a natural gift for sewing, which became one of her greatest assets.  In addition, she was a great business person; helping to support her husband, Calvin Brooks with many different business ventures, such as the Brooks Grocery, a family store established in Gumberry, North Carolina.   Sarah was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, cleaning and watching television shows and movies.  The family recalls a few of her favorite TV shows, which included: The Heat of the Night, Walker Texas Ranger and Law & Order.
Friends have expressed that 'Ms. Sarah' had the type of spirit that will live on forever, as she touched many lives.  Her family stated they will truly miss seeing and spending time with her.
On Friday, March 10, 2017, Sarah, peacefully slipped into eternal slumber at Capitol Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Raleigh, North Carolina.  In addition to her mother,  she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Calvin Brooks; a sister, Julia Robinson and a brother James Boynton.
