Timothy Lee Butcher, was born February 2, 1943, in Northampton County, North Carolina, to the parentage of the late Tom and Susie Moody Butcher.
'Candyman', as he was fondly known, attended the Northampton County Public School System. For some years, he was employed as a logger.
'Candyman' was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Let him tell it, he was kin to everybody in Gaston. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and singing old spirituals. He loved talking about the "good ole days" and the things he and his fifteen siblings use to do.
'Candyman's' life peacefully came to a close on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Our Community Hospital, Scotland Neck, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: two sons, Reginald and Terry Butcher and fourteen siblings.
Fond memories shall forever be cherished by: one daughter, Stacy Butcher Sykes of Garysburg, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Reggie Johnson, Rykeem Johnson, Ryvares Butcher, Sharon Johnson, Shaquille Miles and Sharee Rawls; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Fleetwood Butcher of Washington, North Carolina; two aunts, Hazel Robinson and Geneva Smith both of Gaston, North Carolina; a brother-at-heart, Will Squire; two sisters-in-law, Cora Lee Butcher and Betty Butcher; a host of other relatives and friends
