Reflections... the life of 'Bud'                 


         William Johnson Edwards,  began his journey through life on November 14, 1949 in Northampton County, North Carolina.  He was  born to the parentage of the late George Dallas Edwards and Lillie Johnson Edwards. 
      'Bud', as he was fondly known, was educated in the Northampton County Public School System.  He later relocated to Newark, New Jersey, where he met Lela Mae Edwards. The two were married on March 23, 1970.  This union was blessed with children. While residing in Newark, he was employed with Ford Motor Company.  
    'Bud' was a fun loving person, who was very kind. He loved riding the tractor trailer, in which, he rode like it was his car. He was devoted to his family. He was a special part of all our lives and will be truly missed by all who knew him.          
       On Thursday, December 14, 2017, God in his infinite wisdom,  called 'Bud' home to rest.  "Come ye, blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you."  In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by: his step-mother, Lizzie Ford-Edwards, eight brothers and seven sisters.
       Fond memories shall forever be cherished by: his wife, Lela Mae Edwards; four children, Ernest William Edwards, Omar Stover, Antoinette Sanford and Shakira Holman; twenty-three grandchildren, Antoniayah, Nateyah, Kevin, Jr., Shinayah, Shanitia, Desitiny, Zhaniyah, Essence, Troy, Niesha, Juanita, Ernest, Jr., Carmailo, Isaiah, Devion, Desean, Shayla, Jamine, Shamara, Alisha, Tyleea, Dashon and Daquan,  seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mattie Moore (James) of Seaboard, North Carolina, Linda Marsh (Grady) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mable Ford and Virginia Ford both of Baltimore, Maryland; a special niece, Lillie Mae Mason; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
