      Deacon Willie Lee Davis, son of the late Robert Lee Davis and Mary Frances Williams Davis, began his journey through life on  July 24, 1956, in Northampton County, North Carolina. 
     'Bear' was educated in the Northampton County School System, graduating from Northampton County High School - East, Class of 1975.  At an age early, he accepted Christ and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson, North Carolina.  He later united in Christian Fellowship with Zoar Missionary Baptist Church, Pendleton, North Carolina, where he served faithfully and demonstrated his love for Christ and others. He was also a member of Pendleton Lodge # 497. 
      'Bear' begin his career with the Department of Corrections (DPS) in June 1979 and continued until June 2013; working his way up to Superintendent.  He retired as Assistant Superintendent of Bertie Correctional Center.  He gave much of his time and devotion to maintaining security and supervising daily activities.   'Bear' loved people and was known to be fair. He enjoyed spending time  at church with his family and friends. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 
      On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, while in the comfort of his home; our dear loved one, peacefully slipped into eternal slumber
     Left not to mourn his passing, but to cherish many fond memories are: his wife, Brenda M. Davis of the home, one daughter, LaTeshia Davis of Pendleton, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Keon Davis, Al'Montay Eley and Al'Tavion Eley; his siblings, Helen Wilkins (Robert), Barbara Davis, Robert Davis (Rosa) and James Davis all of Jackson, North Carolina and Lee Ernest Davis (Rachel) of Wildwood, New Jersey; his aunts and uncle, Ruth Motley, Gladys Williams and Maryland Williams all of Jackson, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, in-laws and friends.
