Willie Mae Winborne Langford, daughter of the late Norman and Lydia Z. Simmons-Winborne, began her journey through life on September 2, 1924, in Hertford County, North Carolina.
Willie Mae, accepted Christ at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Seaboard, North Carolina, where she served as a Deaconess and enjoyed doing so.  She graduated from Coates High School, Seaboard, North Carolina. She was united in marriage to Clarence E. Langford.  They were blessed with two children Delois and Norman Bruce.
Willie Mae loved cooking, gardening, canning, freezing, sewing and entertaining. During the summer, you could find the gang sitting around the table playing dominoes and having fun. There were no strangers in her home everyone was welcome and you had to eat before you left. She shared her canned foods with you but you had to return her jars if you expected to get more.  At Christmas you could smell the homemade fruit cakes before you got to the house. She was affectionately called 'Ma Mae', 'Grandma' and 'Aunt Willie Mae', by the children in the family and the neighborhood.
On Sunday, May 14, 2017, God called our dear loved home to eternal rest.  Her seeds are well sown, her service on earth is complete and she now experiences the victory and triumph of life.  In addition to her parents, husband and daughter,  Willie Mae was preceded in death by two brothers Aubrey and Joe Lee Winborne, Sr.
Precious memories shall forever be cherished in the hearts of:  her devoted children, Norman B. (Geraldine) Langford of Seaboard, North Carolina, Elaine Winborne-Jones (Johnny) of Clayton, North Carolina and Freda (Myron) Anderson of Weldon, North Carolina; a special nephew, reared as a son, Joe Lee (Sharon) Winborne, Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, six grandchildren, Jason Drew, Reginald Langford, Tony Drew, Jacqueline Langford, Briana Winborne and Jordan Jones; three great-grandchildren, Jalik Drew, Jaz'Mia Drew and Ja'Quezz Drew; two brothers, Ralph Winborne and McArthur (Evelyn) Winborne all of Seaboard, North Carolina; one sister, Jessie (Mike) Pincus of Philadelphia; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends.
