Lola Mae Edwards Whitaker Baugham, began her journey through life on December 20, 1939, in Northampton County, North Carolina. She was born to the parentage of the late Willie Mitchell and Marie Edwards.
'Punkin', as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Northampton County School System. For many years, she was employed as a seamstress with several manufacturing companies. After her retirement, she passionately reared her great grandchildren, who were the light of life.
On Thursday, April 26, 2018, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, peacefully departed this earthly life in the serenity of her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her daughter, Barbara Jean and two brothers, James and Claude.
Cherish memories will forever remain in the hearts of: two daughters, Lola E. Burroughs (Steven) of Marietta, Georgia and Evelyn Whitaker Cherry of Murfreesboro, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Makita Winston and Queshia Cherry; one grandson, Alden Burroughs; three great-grandchildren, Emonjaleya, Amontraz, and Amazeyana; three sisters, Hattie Harper of Orange, New Jersey, Carolyn Edwards and Yvette Edwards both of Conway North Carolina; one brother, Bernard Edwards of East Orange, New Jersey; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, who are touched by her passing.
