Alexander Randolph 'Alec' Suiter

     Alexander Randolph ‘Alec’ Suiter was born July 4 1944, to the late Zollie, Sr. and Ercell Suiter in Margarettsville, North Carolina. He attended Margarettsville School and Gumberry High School. Alec served in the US Army in the early 60’s. After that he attended and graduated from Wilson Tech in Wilson, North Carolina in 1966, as a mechanic. He was a great mechanic. ‘Alec’ worked for several years at the shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia, before he medically retired.

     ‘Alec’, as he was so called by his loving family and friends, was also known as ‘Uncle Bip’ to a host of nieces and nephews. He really loved his family. Alec was a loving and caring person to all. He never met a stranger. His passion was, preaching the Word of God, witnessing for the Lord, repairing cars and bicycles, helping people, teaching children life skills, sharing whatever he had and listening to music.

     On Friday, May 26, 2023, God called Alexander to eternal rest, as he slept quietly at Ahoskie Assisted Living in Ahoskie, North Carolina, under Hospice Care after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by: his older brother, Zollie Lee (Cookie) Suiter, Jr., a younger brother, Nathaniel Thomas (Nate) Suiter, Sr.

     He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Doswell (Kenneth, Sr.); three grandchildren, Tannethia, Tasia and Kenneth, Jr. all of Newport News, Virginia; two sisters, Carolyn Parker (Lester) of Seaboard, North Carolina and Lizzie Morrison of Winston Salem, North Carolina; two brothers, Bruce Suiter (Georgette) and Calvin Suiter (Gilda) all of Durham, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
