Alton 'Randy' Williams Obituary

“To everything there is a season, and to every purpose under the

Heaven: A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant, and a

time to pluck up that which is planted.”

~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Alton Randolph “Randy” Williams, a beloved son, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 13th, 2025. Born on November 12th, 1981, in Norfolk, Virginia. Randy was the cherished son of Barbara Elaine Williams and the late Rudolph Ulysses Williams, Jr.

A proud graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, class of 2000, Randy went on to further his education at Valley Career and Technical Center in Fishersville, Virginia. There, he discovered a passion for counseling and administration, which he would carry throughout his life. Over the years, Randy worked in various roles, quickly earning the respect of those around him for his dedication and work ethic. His family often joked that he could find a job faster than anyone they knew. Randy’s career path led him to roles at Avenues Recovery Center, Metropolitan Funeral Home, and Virginia Vehicle Escort, LLC, until his health began to decline.

Randy was an active and devoted member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church for many years before later becoming a part of New Hope Congregational Church. His faith was an important part of his life, as was his love for music, especially the uplifting songs of Shirley Caesar, whom he adored.

One of Randy’s most endearing qualities was his love for people. He was known for staying connected with family and friends, always sharing a thoughtful message or capturing special moments through his photography. As the “family photographer,” Randy found joy in preserving memories with those he cared about, ensuring that his loved ones would always have a keepsake of their time together.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Williams, Jr., and his brother, Eric Williams. He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Barbara Williams; his sisters, Tia Williams and Tiwanda Williams; his brothers, Rudolph “Junior” Williams (Tonya) and Terry “Boo Boo” Williams (Michelle); along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Though Randy has left this world, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
