Annease (Mason) Mizelle

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:

Annease Mason Mizell, age 90, of Margarettsville, North Carolina, peacefully slipped into eternal rest on Monday, March 16th, 2026. Born on Friday, September 6th, 1935, in Pendleton (Northampton County), North Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Henry Mason and Willie Christine Stewart Mason.

Annease lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and quiet strength. On Saturday, February 14th, 1953, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Othvelt McKinley Mizelle, and from this loving union she became the devoted mother of nine children. She was a faithful member of Zoar Missionary Baptist Church, where she worshipped diligently until her health no longer permitted her attendance.

Preceeding Annease in death are her beloved husband, Othvelt McKinley Mizell; her loving parents, John Henry Mason and Willie Christine Stewart Mason; two adorable children, Dorthy Jean and Karen Blount; three siblings; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Her beautiful smile, serene life and many sweet memories will forever be treasured by those she leaves behind: her loving and devoted children: Sherman Mizelle; Annie Daye (Ronald) of Pendleton, North Carolina; Brenda Davis and Clinton Mizell, Sr. (Gloria) of Margarettsville, North Carolina; Jacqueline Parker (Aro) of Como, North Carolina; Debra Boyce (Dennis) of Conway, North Carolina; and Edith Wright (Isaac) of Norfolk, Virginia; along with her son-in-law, Joseph Blount of Killeen, Texas. Each carries forward her enduring legacy of love, faith, and resilience.

Annease was richly blessed with thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind five siblings, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law. Her family was her pride and joy, and she nurtured each generation with unwavering love, wisdom, and grace.

Annease’s life was a testament to strength, resilience, and steadfast devotion. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the generations she so lovingly helped to shape.
