Annie Lee (Blunt) Edwards

On September 2, 1938, Gospel L. and Clara Blunt welcomed into this world a beautiful baby girl, Annie Lee Blunt.  On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, Annie fell asleep in death at home in Garysburg, North Carolina.

Annie dedicated her life to Jehovah God and symbolized her dedication by water baptism on April 6, 1971.  She served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Emporia, Virginia congregation, where she pioneered for many years. She later moved to Garysburg, North Carolina with her daughter, where she served until her illness.  Annie devoted much of her life to helping people in her community come to know Almighty God, Jehovah, and the wonderful hope He held out for suffering mankind.  She spoke to many concerning the future hope of a resurrection on a paradise earth where there will be no more suffering. 

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lenmore Edwards Sr, a son, Eddie Lenmore Edwards Jr, two daughters, Clara Lenora Edwards, Priscilla Edwards Williams, a grandson, Chance Edwards and a granddaughter, Erica Vines.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Rosemary Williams (Davie) of Garysburg, NC; sons: Ernest Edwards of Emporia, VA, Jimmy Edwards (Jennifer) of Courtland, VA, and Michael Edwards (Shena) of Emporia, VA; brothers: Eddie Blunt (Vivian) of Suffolk, VA, Elvis Blunt (Peronica) of Emporia, VA, Joseph Blunt of Lawrenceville, VA, and James Hall (Patricia) of Raleigh, NC; sisters: Bessie Chavis of Conyers, GA, Elsie Harris (Melvin) of Chesapeake, VA, Viola Lucas (Frank) of Emporia, VA, Tuwanna Okafor of Chesapeake, VA, Ruth Edwards and Georgette White (Dennis) of Portsmouth, VA; granddaughters: Toni Edwards, Crystal Jackson (Albeon “Al”), Wendi Edwards, Arianna Edwards, and Kellee Johnston; grandsons: Eddie Edwards III (Nevia), Anthony Lewis, Kendall Edwards, Michael Andrew Edwards Jr, Jordan Edwards (Sa’Dia), Brycen Edwards and Blake Barnes; great grandchildren: Kendall Edwards Jr, Taylor Edwards, Kimora Jackson, Dylan Fritz, Levi Edwards, Kamarion Powers, and Tonti’on Powers; daughters-in-law: Jacqueline Edwards, Henrietta Allen, and Ann Barnes; sons-in-law: George Lewis (Renee) and Cedric Williams; along with the abiding love of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
