On July 27, 1954 a precious little girl by the name Barbara Regina Donahue, was born to the loving care of the late Jonathan Donahue and Bertha Washington in Terry, Mississippi.
As life progressed, Barbara moved to New Jersey, where she continued her education. Her love for helping others, led her to a career in the medical field. Barbara met and ultimately married the late Leonard 'Leon' Ryland. This union was blessed with two sons.
As a child, Barbara attended Rocky Spring Missionary Baptist Church. While living in New Jersey, Barbara was a faithful member of Faith Temple No.1 Free Will Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all of heart and could often be seen with her bible in her hand. In later years, she relocated to Seaboard, North Carolina, where she was a watch care member of the Faithful Band Missionary Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, North Carolina.
In addition to reading her bible, Barbara*s favorite pastime included watching football (Go Tom Brady) and her Westerns - Oh how she loved John Wayne!
On Sunday, September 5, 2021, our dear loved one departed this earthly life, while in the serenity of her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one sister, Linda Washington and several aunts and uncles.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: two sons, Reginald Ryland and Eric Ryland both of Seaboard, North Carolina; siblings, Brenda, Andre and *JR* Washington all of New Jersey; two sisters-in-law, Mary Walters (Gregory) of Seaboard, North Carolina and Bertha Ryland of Pleasant Hill, North Carolina; devoted caretaker, Carolyn Williams: cousins, Delores (Leroy) Tinney, Lorraine White, Alfrednette Atkinson and many others, too numerous to name; other loving relatives and friends.
