Calvin 'Caddy' Robinson Obituary

Calvin Lee Robinson was born in Northampton County, North Carolina on Thursday, December 3, 1964 to Thelma Robinson and the late Freddie Turner. He was reared in both Gaston, North Carolina and Brooklyn, New York.

‘Caddy’, as he was fondly called by his family and friends, attended the public schools of Northampton County, during his younger years. He graduated from high school and attended college in New York City, where he earned two Associate Degrees. For a number of years, he was employed in the Real Estate field.

Family was near and dear to Calvin’s heart. He loved spending quality time with his family and reminiscing about his childhood.  Calvin had a passion for reading and he loved writing poetry. He was an excellent cook and he hated to miss a good cookout. Singing and listening to old school music also bought him great joy.

Calvin possessed a contagious smile that was sure to brighten up anyone’s day. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay... Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey is quicker, For some the journey’s slow. And when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord. Calvin transitioned from this earthly life unto eternal rest on Friday, March 3, 2023, while in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by: his father, Freddie Douglas Turner; his brother, Willis Robinson and grandson Raymond Hite, Jr.

He leaves not to mourn his passing but to cherish his many fond memories: his one and only daughter, Nappathia Pierrot (Adam); his grandson, Kwame Roberts (Kalie), his granddaughters, Raianna Budhram and Jazmyn Hite all of Warner Robins, Georgia; his mother, Thelma Robinson (Manuel) of Brooklyn, New York; his sister, Donna High (Michael) of Gaston, North Carolina; his brother, William Robinson of Brooklyn, New York; his companion, Judith Wickham and her son, Chris Wickham both of Richmond, Virginia; his niece, Latisha Hodge-Bacchus (Rafon) of Brooklyn, New York; his nephew, Fashon Sheppard of Brooklyn, New York; two great-nephews, Glen and Rafon Jr.; one great-niece, Skylar; his aunts, Ella Robinson of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Linda Sandlain (Fernandes) of Garysburg, North Carolina, Lucy Vincent of Gaston, North Carolina, Mertis Pearson (George) of Brooklyn, New York, Dorothy Crocker of Raleigh, North Carolina, Gayle Smith of Gaston, North Carolina and Marie Webb (Richard) of Gaston, North Carolina; his uncles, Donald Robinson (Delphine) of Emporia, Virginia, Charles Robinson (Odessa) of Gaston, North Carolina, Harry Robinson of Garysburg, North Carolina and Roy Turner of Gaston, North Carolina; special cousin and brother-at-heart, Andre Robinson of Gaston, North Carolina; special cousin and sister-at-heart, Barbara Davis (Alonzo) of Centerville, Virginia; goddaughter, Alanna Harrison of Richmond, Virginia; special friend, Magaly Carrero; a host of cousins and friends.
