Charles Lee Robinson, born on Thursday, February 22, 1951, to Alexander and Bessie Webb Robinson in Northampton County, North Carolina; earned his wings on Sunday, February 25, 2024, while under the care of UNC Healthcare Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Charlie, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, attended the public school of Northampton County before moving to New York at an early age. He worked at Dairy Maid until his retirement, after which he returned home to North Carolina and started a Lawn Care Service.
A lover of music, Charlie found joy in singing along to various songs and crafting his own lyrics. One of his favorite tunes was Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldier." Fishing was another passion he shared with his brothers and later with his children. He would catch, clean, and cook the fish with care. Charlie appreciated the simplicity of relaxing while watching old western movies and spent time gardening, even creating wine from fruits he picked himself. His diverse experiences led him to develop an array of talents and build connections with people from all walks of life.
Charles is survived by his children, Sandra, Joey, Lashel, Lamont, Laquan, Latasha, Jaquik and Charles Jr.; nine grandchildren, Joy, Briana, Corey Jr., Isis, Courtney, Tayvhon, Alanah, Lavelle and Lavon; along with four great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by his siblings, Thelma (Mandy) and Mertis (George) all of New York, Donald (Delphine) of Emporia, Virginia, Linda (Fernandes), Lucy and Harry all of Gaston, North Carolina. Charlie's long-time companion for 16 years, Odessa Hardy, a son-at-heart, Earl, who was always just a phone call away, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all join in cherishing his memory. He will be truly missed.
