Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land,
When you can no longer hold me by the hand,
remember me when there is no more day by day.
Chonita Haithcoats, was born on Thursday, August 9, 1979 in Franklin, Virginia to the parentage of the late Linwood Bruce Ford and Dorothy Denise Haithcoats.
‘Ne Ne’, as she was affectionately called by her loving family and friends, was educated in the Southampton County School System; graduating from Franklin High School. She matriculated at Sentara School of Health Professions.
In 2001, Chonita became a mother to her only son, Dia’Monte Haithcoats. After spending the majority of her adult life in Virginia, she relocated to Georgia, where she made her home until her untimely demise.
On Saturday, October 22, 2022, Chonita answered the Master’s call and gained her heavenly wings. She was preceded in death by: her parents, grandparents, and a host of loving aunts and uncles.
“Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart. For as long as there is memory, ‘Ne-Ne’ will live on in our hearts. A gift for such a little while, the loss just seems so wrong. She should not have left before us, It’s with loved one where she belongs.” Treasured memories of pure love and affection will remain with us forever, as we cherish the magical creation she was: her son, Dia’Monte Haithcoats of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two brothers, Marcus Tremane Haithcoats (Esha) of Newport News, Virginia and Dion Thornton of Leesburg, Virginia; her paternal grandmother, Ruby Ford of Franklin, Virginia; two nieces; three nephews, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Ms. Haithcoats' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
