Cora Lee Edwards

Memories are treasures no one can steal. Death is the heartache nothing can heal.

Some may forget you now that you are gone, But we shall remember you no matter how long.

Today, we pause to pay tribute to the life, love and spirit of Cora Lee Edwards, who was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Cora Lee, as she was so fondly called, was born on Tuesday, November 20, 1962, in Northampton County, North Carolina, to the loving care of Bernice Edwards Williams. She soon grew and developed into a sweet and compassionate woman, who met no stranger!

Cora Lee was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. She connected with her skills and furthered her education by attending the Job Corps. Early in life, she accepted Christ and became a member of the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church of Garysburg, North Carolina. She later united in Christian Fellowship with the Evangelistic Church of Deliverance, Weldon, North Carolina, under the pastorate of Bishop Clarence Harris.

Cora Lee was a free spirit. She lived life to the fullest. She loved to have a good time and was always the life of the party! Cora Lee would do anything she could to help anyone she could. She possessed strength and tenacity. Cora Lee did things her way and didn’t mind saying what was on her mind. However she did it, it was all out of love. She was well-known throughout her community and will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.

On Tuesday, August 16, 2022; while in the care of AuthoraCare Hospice Home, Burlington, North Carolina, our dear loved one peacefully slipped into eternal slumber. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Edwards Williams, her sister, Ora Lee Edwards and her brother, Nelson Edwards.

Cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of: her beloved brother, Milton Edwards of Seaboard, North Carolina; her father-atheart, Collin B. Williams of Weldon, North Carolina; a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
