Corey 'Junebug' Joyner, Jr. Obituary

Corey Levon Joyner, Jr. entered eternal life on Sunday, September 5, 2021.

‘Junebug’, as he was affectionately called,  was born on February 5, 1991, to Jennifer Davis and Corey Joyner.  He graduated from Northampton County High School in 2009. He was baptized early in his youth and later became a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Richmond VA on April 24, 2011. He enjoyed his time with his church family at Resurrection Lutheran Church; he enjoyed spending time in the Word of God and growing in his faith.

Corey briefly served his country in the United States Navy in 2012. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he attained employment at Rochester Cable Solutions in 2013.

Corey was kind, generous of heart, and known for his smile and his infectious laughter that could light up a room. He was creative and loved fixing things.  He loved spending time with his family, and he loved playing cards with his friends. Corey was a gentle person who loved deeply and was loved in return by many friends, family, and co-workers alike.

Corey is deeply cherished by: his parents, Jennifer Davis and Dominic Davis, Culpeper, Va; Corey Joyner, Sr. and Joyce Joyner, Cofield, NC; his siblings, Tkisha Ray (brother-in-law, Kevin), Keeana Joyner, Danielle Davis and Dominic Davis, Jr.; his grandparents, Christine and Lewis Winfield,  Joe Grant and Patricia Rascoe- Grant; his aunts and uncles, Cynthia Motley (Uncle-at-heart, Kevin Hoes) of Temple Hills, MD, Siyata Winfield of Sarasota, Florida, Janel Grant of Newport News, VA; Travis Holloway of Jacksonville, FL; his great-aunts, Clorine Spruill (Bruce) of Virginia Beach, VA,  Clara Deloatch of Conway, NC  and Irene Bynum of Charlotte, NC;  his beloved niece, Dy’mond Holder; his beloved nephew, Jayveon Ray;  a host of cousins, relatives, co-workers and friends.

Corey is preceded in death by:  his grandparents,  Delmo Joyner, Sr and Mable Joyner,  James and Odell Deloatch, his aunt, Vanessa Bowser, his uncle, Delmo Joyner, Jr.,, his great-aunt, Lostine Futrell and a few additional relatives.
