Danford 'Dan' Eason Obituary

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,

neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

~Revelation 1: 4

Today we celebrate the life of Danford Eason, who was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

On Sunday, February 17, 1963, Dan was born to the late Beulah Mae Eason in Woodland, North Carolina. He was reared in the loving care of his grandparents the late Herman and Catherine Eason.

Dan was educated in the Northampton County School System; graduating from Northampton County High School–East, class of 1981. He furthered his studies by attending Halifax Community College and North Carolina Central University, where he earned a degree in Information Systems. He also obtained Microsoft Office Specialist Certification and Internet and Computing Core Certification. Dan was also an honorary member of the PHI Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Danford was the proud owner-operator of D & S Trucking Company and Eason Express both of Conway, North Carolina. He worked until his health began to decline in July 2018. In his spare time you could find him riding his motorcycle, mowing the lawn, spending quality time with his family, playing pool with neighborhood friends and watching his favorite TV shows  “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Chicago PD”.

“When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll, Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.” On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, while in the serenity of his home, Danford recalled the refrain “It is well, it is well with my soul” and crossed the great divide, exchanging life for eternal rest. His seeds are well-sown; his service on earth is complete, and he now experiences the victory and triumph of eternal life.

Our family is a circle of strength and love; with every birth and every union, the circle of love grows - every trial faced together makes the circle grow stronger. We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but are assured by the promise of God; that He would wipe all tears from our eyes: his lovely wife of 26 years, Shelia Edwards Eason of the home; four children, Tiffanie Eason of Richmond, Virginia, Stacy Tann (Tony) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Antwanette Smith (Sheldon) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and Anthony Arrington, Jr. (LaCoya) of Raleigh North Carolina; six grandchildren, Kei’lahini, Kannon, Kayden, Ja’shaun, AJ, and Zay; his siblings, Michael Eason (Phyllis) of Clinton, Maryland, Reginald Eason of Washington DC and Phyllis Eason (Andre) of Charlotte, North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Rockie Lee Patterson of Rich Square, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, in-laws and friends.
