“Remembering you is easy, we do it everyday,
Missing you is a heartache, which will never go away.”
DeMarkus Nathaniel Person, son of Aubrey Nathaniel Person, Jr. and Tumesha Bynum Majette began his journey through life on Sunday, December 10, 1995, in Halifax County, North Carolina.
DeMarkus was reared in the Boone’s Bridge Road Community of Severn, North Carolina. He was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. During his short time on earth, he held various jobs, as a forklift operator.
‘Polo’, as he was fondly called, loved his family, with all of his heart. Spending quality time with family, and his brothers and sisters-at-heart, brought him much joy.
On Friday, March 19, 2021, our hearts were saddened at the sudden passing of our beloved father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
“Sad is the parting, no one can tell: So sudden on earth the sorrow fell, The blow was hard, the shock severe; To part with one we love so dear. Dearer still, as days depart; Our loved one’s memory will forever live within our hearts!” We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but satisfied at the promise of God; that He will wipe all tears from our eyes are: daughter, Aubree Person; parents, Aubrey Person, Jr. (Michelle) and Tumesha Majette (Christopher Blount); siblings, Quenacia Bynum, Jasmine Fleming, Tony Sledge, Jr. and Ronnell Murrell; paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Mary Person, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Stafford Bottoms (Jent); maternal great-grandparents, Elizabeth Bynum and Aundra Mae Bottoms; aunts and uncles, Markisha Wilkerson (Jerome), Janice Bottoms, Tiffany Bottoms, Komita Hendricks, Cynthia Turner (Milton) and Aundra Murphy; great-aunts and uncles, Verlie Long, Mozelle Rogers, Earnestine Rogers, Oscar Bynum, Ronnie Bynum, Joanne Branch, Shirley Long, Katherine Artis, Barbara Staten, Yvonne Flood-Cook, Calvin Wilkerson and Reginald Wilkerson; godmother, Sandra Johnson; nieces, Kamirya Bynum and Mariah Swain; brothers and sisters-at-heart, Kimberly Sledge, Zayona Hansford, Malik Newsome, RoShawn Turner, Jacoby Person, Zavonte Williams, Leroy Edwards and Greg Johnson; a host of cousins and friends.
