Dinnie Potts Obituary

Weep not for me though I am gone, Into that gentle night.

Grieve if you will, but not for long, Upon my soul's sweet flight.

I am at peace, my soul's at rest, There is no need for tears.

For with your love I was so blessed, For all those many years.

There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone.

Put now these things out of your thoughts, In your memory I live on.

Remember not my fight for breath, Remember not the strife.

Please do not dwell upon my death, But celebrate my life.

Today, we pause to celebrate the life, love, and spirit of Dinnie Pringle Potts — a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend. Though her time on earth seemed all too brief, Dinnie’s joyful spirit and vibrant personality touched countless lives.

Dinnie was born on Friday, October 8th, 1959, in Northampton County, North Carolina, to Joe Pringle and Lucille Bynum. She was educated in the Northampton County School System and later earned her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse, dedicating 40 years to a career she loved, caring for others with genuine compassion. Outside of work, Dinnie enjoyed reading, spending time with family and close friends, and baking her famous cheesecakes, which she delighted in sharing with loved ones.

On Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, in the peace of her home and surrounded by her mother, sister, and brother-in-law, Dinnie slipped quietly into eternal rest.

Dinnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family: her beloved mother, Lucille Bynum Deloatch; her children, Tamica Bynum and Lorenzo Harris Jr.; her cherished grandson, Shaquan Harris; one great-grandchild; her siblings, Leroy Deloatch and Tammie Rodgers (Roosevelt); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In eternal peace, Dinnie is now reunited with her father, Joe Pringle, and her brother, Johnnie Deloatch Jr., resting together in a blessed reunion.

Dinnie Pringle Potts’s journey has come full circle, and her memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
