Donald Eugene Debreaux, affectionately known as "Doug," was born on Sunday, April 24th, 1966, to the late Willie Lee and Annie Jane Jacobs Debrow. He grew up in Northampton County, where he attended public schools and graduated from Northampton County High School in 1986. From an early age, Doug followed the example of his parents by working diligently and taking pride in giving his best effort in every task. His generosity extended beyond his work, as he was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends, offering assistance with yard work, gardening, and car detailing.
Doug’s career spanned various fields. He worked for Perdue Farms, Murphy Farms, and Peterson Construction. In the late 1980s, he proudly served in the Army National Reserves. For the past several years, Doug worked as a forklift operator at Hampton Farms in Severn, NC. His dedication to his job was evident, as he took great pride in ensuring his work was done safely and efficiently. Doug was known for his willingness to work overtime and assist his coworkers whenever they needed help. Outside of work, he enjoyed reading, surfing the internet, and watching programs on the History Channel, Discovery, and CNN. His favorite pastime, however, was cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. His infectious laughter, cheerful jokes, and his signature phrase, “It is what it is!” will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In his earlier years, Doug was united in marriage to Elaine Simmons, and to this union, a son, Kadeem Debreaux, was born. Doug’s family was a source of joy, and he cherished the time spent with his son, grandchildren, and relatives.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kadeem Debreaux; two grandchildren, Zoeii and Izayah Debreaux of Gaston, North Carolina; three sisters, Ann Jones (Lynwood), Keeya Jones (Michael) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and Connie Smith (Curtis) of Rich Square, North Carolina; three aunts, Mildred Debreaux of Woodland, North Carolina, Elsie Jacobs of Orange, New Jersey, and Mallie Gregory of Long Island, New York; three sisters-in-law, Christell Debrow Pryor of Durham, North Carolina, Peggy Lonza of Grandview, Missouri, and Pattie Debrow of Buffalo, New York; as well as special cousins: Jeffrey, Ronald Earl, Barry, Carroll, Tammy, and Rosemary. Doug is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, co-workers, and friends.
In addition to to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by three brothers: Willie Lee, Marvin, and Leroy.
Though Doug has left this earthly life, his memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. His faith in God and the hope of the resurrection, as expressed in Acts 24:15, brings comfort to his family, knowing they will be reunited with him in the future. May his soul rest in peace.
