Remembering Douglas…
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed:
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
~ Psalm 61: 1-2
It was on Sunday, July 14, 1946, that life was bestowed upon Douglas Lee Williams, Sr. as he was born in Northampton County, North Carolina, to the parentage of the late James Williams and Maryona Benjamin Williams.
Life afforded Douglas the opportunity to move upstate, where he was educated in the Orange New Jersey School District. As life progressed, he became employed with WestBury Trucking Company in New York City. He later relocated to Syracuse, New York, where he was employed with Elmcrest, and then Schwann.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022; while in the serenity of his home, surrounded by his loving family, God li ed our dear loved one from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of peace and sweet eternal rest. In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by: a son, Maurice; brother, Robert; brother-in-law, Leonard Sr. and nephews, Leonard Jr. and Darrell.
Those remaining to forever cherish his fond memories and the legacy of his life and love are: life-time companion, Mary B. Harper; children, Douglas, Maryona (Adrice), Michael (Serena), Antonio, Linda, Tarsha, Towanna, James, Rasheed, Betty, Sabrina and Sammeerah; sister, Linda, brothers, Alonzo, Ali, Sincere, Rasheed and Fasheed; aunts, Teresa Jones, Betty Ann Gary and Bertha L. Morris; host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
We thought of you today, but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday and the day before that too.
We think of you in silence and often speak your name.
Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.
God has you in His keeping and we have you in our hearts!
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Williams' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
