Eddie DeLoatch, Sr. Obituary

Eddie Wilson DeLoatch, Sr was born in Jackson, North Carolina on September 9, 1954 to the late Wilson and Eula Mae DeLoatch.  He received his wings on October 20, 2020.
At an early age,  Eddie accepted Jesus Christ into his life and was baptized at St. John's AME Church in Conway, North Carolina.  He graduated from Gumberry High School on May 31, 1972, then went to work.  Eddie later enlisted as a Private (PVT) in the United States Army on August 14, 1973.  During his 21 years of courageous years of service, he gained an Additional Skills Identifier (ASI) as a Recruiter.  He received several awards to include Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.  While in the military, Eddie Sr had the opportunity to visit a variety of interesting places like Turkey, Germany, and Korea in addition to many state side locations to include New York, New Jersey, Georgia, and Florida.  Eddie retired from the Army on June 30, 1994 as a Sergeant First Class (SFC).  Upon his arrival to Tampa, Florida, Eddie was involved in community service by making sandwiches and feeding the hungry with his own resources in various locations throughout the Tampa area.
Eddie had various hobbies and interests he loved doing through his lifetime.  Eddie enjoyed watching auto racing and attended the Daytona 500.  In his spare time he enjoyed watching a good western.  Eddie often used his skills and experience to help family and friends, he was an expert handyman and could fix or improve on almost any item. Eddie loved spending time with his son Edward in the backyard of their house fishing and enjoying casual talks about life, they also spent time building computers from scratch.  He spent time with his son Eddie Jr talking about cars and car repairs. Eddie took time working on his motorcycles with his nephew and was an A1  mechanic.  His upmost favorite moments in life that we will truly miss was calling family members regardless of hour of the day.
Eddie was predeceased by his loving sister, Larzinia Boone.
