Eddie Jerome Jacobs, Sr.

Remember all the laughter, We’ve shared throughout the years...

     Eddie Jerome Jacobs, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, at Nash UNC Health Systems in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, at the age of 52. He was born on Sunday, October 29th, 1972, in Northampton County, North Carolina, to Eddie Lewis Jacobs and Lola Greene Jacobs.

     Eddie began his life in Northampton County and received his early education in the Northampton County School System. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he also embraced Islam and became a self-taught Muslim. Following his service, Eddie pursued higher education at Halifax Community College, where he earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. He furthered his academic journey at Fayetteville State University, obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business.

     Eddie had a wide array of interests. He enjoyed lifting weights, writing poetry, and drawing. He was a dedicated fan of the Buffalo Bills football team and took great pleasure in watching their games. Eddie recently began his career with the Halifax County Department of Social Services. On his days off, he loved spending time at home, cooking, and watching classic films.

     Known for his hardworking nature, Eddie was also a protective and gentle soul who had a deep love for laughter. He was always ready to help those in need, and his kindness and generosity will not be forgotten.

     Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sonia Singleton-Jacobs; his devoted son, Eddie Jerome ‘EJ’ Jacobs, Jr.; his brother, Sheldon Greene (Eva); his sister, Sharon Jacobs; his brother, Terry Jacobs (Lilnita); his sister-in-law, Doris Wells; his brother-in-law, David Singleton, Jr. (Shirley); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
