Edward Murph, Jr.

     Edward Murph, Jr.  was born on Sunday, March 5, 1950 in Potecasi, (Northampton County) North Carolina and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2022; while in the care of Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, North Carolina. 

      Edward lived and worked for several years in Virginia.  He was known for helping others, his great sense of humor and teasing others. He suffered a serious injury in a fire trying to save several of his fellow workers and later managed to come back from brain surgery to live for many years.  He was a friend to all and early in his life loved to draw and read.  Edward graduated from W. S. Creecy High School in Rich Square, NC, where he played football.

     He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Murph, Sr. and  Ola Mae Grant Murph Williams, sister, Iola Murph Bowser; brother, John C. Murph and son,  Darren Murph. 

  He is survived by: his son Edward Conrad Murph, Sr. of Ridgecrest, CA; grandchildren, Edward Conrad Murph, Camiesha Pruitt-Murph, Vanessa Pruitt,  Da’Ishea Murph and several great-grandchildren; sister, Loris M. Epps of Agawam, MA; sister-in-law, Connie Murph of Potecasi, NC; nephew, Jermaine Murph of Texas; nieces, Anade Long of Rhode Island and Vanessa Boyce of VA; a host of aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
