From this world of pain and sorrow, to the land of peace and rest,
God has taken our dear loved one, where she'll find eternal rest.
God knew that she was suffering, and the hills were hard to climb,
So He gently closed her weary eyelids, and whispered, "Peace Be Thine".
Elizabeth Caroline Kee, the fifth of twelve children born to the parentage of the late Ulysses Grant and Jannie Ann Harrison Kee, began her journey through life on Saturday, March 28, 1936 in Northampton County, North Carolina.
Elizabeth was a faithful member of Rising Sun Holiness Church located in Emporia, Virginia. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and didn't mind praising God for who He is. Her favorite songs were: "Jesus Will Fix It, He Knows How" and "Well Done". She would sing these songs at church whenever she was asked to participate on programs or during testimony service.
Elizabeth loved cooking and working in her beautiful flower garden. She also enjoyed watching her favorite television show, "The Price Is Right".
When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll, Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.” On Saturday, January 8, 2022; while in the care of Hampton Manor, Gaston, North Carolina, Elizabeth recalled the refrain “It is well, it is well with my soul” and crossed the great divide, exchanging life for eternal rest. Her seeds are well-sown; her service on earth is complete, and she experiences the victory and triumph of eternal life. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her siblings, Dorothy Kee Bynum, Barbara Ann Kee, Thomas Kee, Ulysses C. Kee, Cal E. Kee, Romie W. Kee, Isaiah Kee and Eldress Josephine Kee Easter; one uncle, Walter Harrison and a sister-in-law, Annie Naomi Broady.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: two sisters, Eldress Rosa Epps of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Maggie Banks of Garysburg, North Carolina; one brother Bishop New Jenes Kee, Sr. (Eldress Doshia Kee) of Garysburg, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Words cannot express how much we miss you.
Nothing can ever compare or even tell.
Although you are gone, you're still in our hearts,
You'll always be close, even though we are far apart.
