Eloise Goods Obituary

Memories are treasures no one can steal. Death is the heartache

nothing can heal. Some may forget you now that you are gone,

But we shall remember you no matter how long.

ELOISE GOODS, affectionately known as "Lois," was born on Thursday, February 16th, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Victoria Futrell-Goode and Raymond Goode. She was the second eldest of seven children in a home filled with love, discipline, and a deep belief in striving for excellence—values that Lois carried with her throughout her life.

From a young age, Lois had a flair for fashion and a vibrant, girlie-girl spirit. She graduated from Eli Whitney High School and began her professional journey on Wall Street, working as an executive secretary for various financial institutions. Later in life, she transitioned to a career in health care, where she successfully managed three home health care agencies before retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Lois approached life with purpose and passion. She worked hard, lived well, and enjoyed the finer things—especially traveling, shopping, and fine dining. Though she did not have children of her own, Lois played a profound role in the lives of her nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her and were blessed by her unwavering support and love.

In 1976, Lois met the love of her life and longtime partner, Robert Ford. Their relationship, rooted in faith and friendship, was filled with shared adventures, long walks, drives, and a mutual love for sporting events. In 2018, they retired together and moved to Troutman, North Carolina, where they built a peaceful life and home together.

On Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, Lois passed away at her home in Troutman, North Carolina, entering eternal rest. She is now reunited with her beloved parents and great-nephew, Liam Fields.

Lois leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. She is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her life partner, Robert Ford; her sons-at-heart, Johnathan and Miles; her siblings, Diane, Joyce, Raymond, Denise, Cynthia and Angela; her nieces and nephews: Kisha, Jamel, Rasheem, Kai, Tony, Nikki, Armon, Isaiah, Amir and Lianni; and a host of extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
