Everett 'Rock' Kee, Jr. Obituary

Memories are treasures no one can steal. Death is the heartache nothing can heal.

Some may forget you now that you are gone, But we shall remember you no matter how long.

On Monday, September 21, 1959, Everett Rudolph Kee, Jr. was born to the parentage of the late Everett Rudolph Kee, Sr. and Katherine Inez Long Kee in Northampton County, North Carolina.

Everett was educated in the Northampton County Public School System; graduating from Gumberry High School - Class of 1978. On Friday, May 21, 1982, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Barbara Dailey. As life progressed, he became gainfully employed to support his family and worked until his health failed.

‘Rock’, as he was fondly called, loved his family with all his heart and spending quality time with them brought him great joy. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, classmates and friends; and riding motorcycles.

Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place the food may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crost the bar. On Friday, March 18, 2022, our dear loved one quietly crossed the bar and went home to be with the Lord. He is now reunited with his beloved parents, niece, Courtney Phillips, mother-in-law, Tearsel Bynum and many other relatives and friends, who have gone on before him.

Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you. Treasured memories of pure love and affection will forever remain with: his wife, Barbara Kee of the home; son, Damien Turner, Sr. (Alicia) and their children, Damien Jr., Tobias and Khalique of Sharpsburg, North Carolina; son, Keith Kee (Oneishia) and their children, Jared and Aiden of High Point, North Carolina; daughter, Lashanda Kee and her children, Samari and Obryia of Garysburg, North Carolina; son, Anthony Ransom of Garysburg, North Carolina; sisters, Evangelist Evelyn K. Lee, Evangelist Brenda K. Phillips (Calvin) and Carolyn Kee all of Pleasant Hill, North Carolina; aunt, Elsie Long Burch of Albany, New York; special cousins/brothers-at-heart, Otis Long of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Gregory Roberts of Raleigh, North Carolina; father-in-law, Franklin Bynum of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; sisters/brothers-in-law, Tana Bynum of Gaston, North Carolina, Gwendolyn Clark (Johnny Sr.), Ulandis Lashley (Tremayne) all of Garysburg, North Carolina, Frank Dailey (Mary) of Weldon, North Carolina and Olander Bynum of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
