Frederick Shaunte 'Nanky" Kee

 Remembering ‘Nanky’...

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,

       With humble submission to the will of God, we pause to pay tribute to the life, love and memory of Frederick Shaunte Kee; who was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

     ‘Nanky’, as he was a ectionately called by his family and friends, was born on Thursday, November 21, 1985 in Greenville, (Pitt County) North Carolina to the parentage of Minister Betty Parker Kee and the late Ulysses Grant Kee, Jr. He was educated in the Northampton County School System; graduating from Miracle Tabernacle Christian School of Weldon, North Carolina.

     Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated, thus, everyone’s task is unique as his specific opportunity to implement it. (by: Viktor E. Frankl.) ‘Nanky’ soon matured into a respectable young man and landed his first job at Jersey Dollar. He later gained employment with the Virginia Department of Corrections and lastly with Sun Energy of Gaston, North Carolina, as a security officer. In addition to being gainfully employed, ‘Nanky’ was a talented pianist, excellent grill master and skillful handy man - a true “Jack-of-ALL-Trades”. He could fix practically anything! You would often find him doing odd jobs such as carpentry and plumbing - just to name a few, throughout the community helping those in need.

     God in Heaven had a plan. For each sunset there’s a sunrise in a land we cannot see. There’s a place of love and purity that’s called eternity! On Friday, February 25, 2022, our beloved ‘Nanky’ was embraced in the arms of the Lord. No candles are even needed, for God provides the light. Our father knows what’s best for us, so why should we complain?

     We thought of you today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and the day before that too. We think of you in silence and often speak your name. Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part. God has you in His keeping and we have you in our hearts. We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but are assured by the promise of God; that He would wipe all tears from our eyes: three children, Shaniiyah Nii’Asia Kee and Sanura Neveah Kee both of Clayton, North Carolina and Jayden Kharon Kee of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; his mother, Minister Betty Kee of Garysburg, North Carolina; three brothers, Marvin Kee (Lisa) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Bishop Tony Kee of Brooklyn, New York and Eric Kee of Newport News, Virginia; one sister, Rosa Kee of Manassas, Virginia; a special aunt, Brenda Parker of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; special friends, Kathleen Valentine, Tamera Parker, Shanice Crowell and Ella Rawles; a close family friend, Tricia Goddard of Manassas, Virginia; a host of other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Kee's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
