Harry James Jackson Sr. son of the late Ivory Jackson, Sr. and Georgie Schufford Jackson was born on Sunday, March 6th, 1949 in Charlotte Court House, Virginia.

At an early age, Harry accepted Christ and united in Christian Fellowship with Beautiful Plain Baptist Church of Charlotte Court House, Virginia. He was educated in the Charlotte County Virginia School System, graduating from Central High School. After which, in 1967, he relocated to New Jersey, where he met and married the love of his life, Gilda Jarrett. They shared 53 years of marital bliss.

For more than 10 years, Harry worked at a fluid chemical plant. He later secured employment with Schering/ Plough Pharmaceutical, which later merged with Merck Pharmaceutical, where he was gainfully employed for over 30 years, as a Machinist. During this time, he formed both a professional and personal relationship with his boss, Gerard Cocuzza, a friendship that persisted until his passing. He also had a long time friendship with coworker Henry Johnson.

On Saturday, October 21st, 2023; while in the serenity of his home in Pendleton, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family, Harry peacefully departed this earthly life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivory Jackson Jr. and Norman Jackson.

Harry’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of: his devoted wife, Gilda Jackson of the home; son, Harry Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Richmond, Virginia, two grandsons, Elijah and Jordan; three sisters, Olivia (Leroy) Redd of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jane (Clarence) Johnson of Bronx, New York and Annette Stuart of Summerville, South Carolina; one brother, Sylvester (Kim) Jackson of East Orange, New Jersey; three aunts, Cecil McFarland of Baltimore, Maryland, Vernell Clark of Virginia and Edna Braddock of New York; one uncle, Percell (Sue) Jackson of Saxe, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
