JAMES HARDY was born on Monday, September 27th, 1948 in Northampton County, North Carolina to the parentage of the late Marvin Hardy and Eva Turner Hardy.
James was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to New York, where he resided for a number of years. As life progressed, he returned to North Carolina and became employed with The Sewing Factory, Seaboard, where he worked for 19 years. After its closure, James began working on the farm, with Bobby Gay.
James loved his family. Spending quality time with those he loved brought him great joy. In addition, he enjoyed watching television, especially murder-mystery movies. He also enjoyed a good home cooked meal - ham and baked sweet potatoes was his favorite! In his leisure time, he could often be found gardening and mowing the lawn.
On Tuesday, November 14th, 2023; while in the care of Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Jackson, North Carolina, our dear loved one peacefully crossed over to be with the Lord. In addition to his loving parents, James was predeceased by: one daughter, Arlene Williams; one sister, Mary Myrick and two brothers, William Buffaloe and Floyd Hardy.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: four daughters, Shenita Snelling (Reginald) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Danielle Hardy of Palmetto, Florida, Trina Anderson (John Sr.) and Tina Baker (Jerome) both of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren, Darius Rentz, Tiffany Snelling, Nakia Snelling, Joshua Snelling, John Anderson, Jr., Christina Anderson-Williams, Kristen Hardy, Danielle Baker and Jordan Bronson; two great-grandchildren, Nasir Williams and Asa Anderson; his siblings, Emma Turner of Jackson, North Carolina, Shirley Gatling of Arizona, Agnes Jones of Seaboard, North Carolina, George Hardy (Gail) of Alton, Virginia, Eva Jennings of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Woodrow Hardy (Eleanor) of Carthage, North Carolina and Doris Hardy Harris (Lester) of Willow Springs, North Carolina; his longtime companion, Gladys Williams of Jackson, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
