Memories are treasures no one can steal, Death is the heartache nothing can heal
Some may forget you now that you are gone, But we shall remember you no matter how long.
On Sunday, December 21, 1947, a gift from God came to the late Elvie Boone Deloatch and Raymond Deloatch, Sr. The gift was a 6lb, 7oz bouncing baby boy named, James Lee Deloatch. He was born in Jackson, Northampton County, North Carolina and grew into a mature young man.
James received his formal education at W.S. Creecy High School in Rich Square, North Carolina. After school, he helped his father work on the farm - raising corn, cotton, peanuts and soybeans. He did this until one day, deciding to relocate to Washington, District of Colombia - where he resided and worked until 1975.
'Man', as he was affectionately called, returned back home, where he met and later married Barbara Jean Pete Deloatch on September 19, 1977. She was called to her heavenly home in 2014. Seeing the need to help provide for his family, James became gainfully employed with Georgia Pacific of Emporia, Virginia. After 20 years of service, he decided to retire and moved forward with giving his life to Christ. He loved the Lord, his family, friends, music and dancing and had a heart of gold.
Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what's to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey is quicker, For some the journey is slow. And when the journey finally ends, We'll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord. On Wednesday, January 27, 2021; God in His infinite wisdom, lifted our dear loved one from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of eternal rest. Don*t worry family, for he is not alone. James is now reunited with a host of relatives and friends who have preceded him in death.
Our family is a circle of strength and love; with every birth and every union, the circle of love grows - every trial faced together makes the circle grow stronger. We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but are assured by the promise of God; that He would wipe all tears from our eyes: sisters, Stella M. Jordan and Jeanette Jeffries; brothers, Raymond Deloatch, Jr. (Mable), Carnell Deloatch (Gladys), George Deloatch and Ronald Deloatch (Frances); daughters-at-heart, Regina M. Pete, Joanne Pete, Linda Ward (Raymond); grandchildren, Michael Barnes (DeAndrea), Rodney Pete and Connie Roberts; a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins and life long friends.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Deloatch's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
