Janet Marie Brimage, 67, of Farmville NC, passed away in her home on March 11, 2025.

She was born in Gumberry, NC on May 14, 1957, to the late Lois Marie Coker and Hubert Jarvis Coker, who enjoyed bringing everyone together for family functions at Lake Gaston. Family, Food, and Fun was nourishment of the soul. As a teenager, Janet was known for her basketball skillset. The “Shy" Janet played Center for Gumberry Highschool and eloquently performed Misty Blue at a high school talent show that blew everyone away. She spent her summers in Farmville NC, embodied her studies at Gumberry High School and graduated in 1976 and then from Lenior Community College in 1990 for Nursing.

After her high school graduation, her best friend Stephanie, set her up on a blind date with Lee Brimage. Little did she know, she was just introduced to the love of her life. He aggressively pursued her and they were married ten months later on July 3,1977. They were happily married for the next 48 years.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Hubert Coker and her grandson Tonie Brimage, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Lee Brimage of the Home, her children, Yetta Brimage, Greenville NC, Tonie Brimage, Tarboro, NC, Tonica Brimage-William (Jeremy), Hollywood FL, Vondra Brimage of Greensboro, NC, Janette Brimage of Greenville, NC. Her sisters, Sandra Seaberry (Bobby) of Richmond VA, Angela Hall of Walstonburg NC, Kathy Tyler of New Port News, VA. Her ten grandchildren, True, Asia, Tiwan, Za'Kayla, Madison, MyAngel, MyTatiana, Gabriella, Isabella, McKenzie and Jospeh. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and hospital coworkers.
