Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my
father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I
go to prepare a place for you? And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come
again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
John 14:1-3
Jeania Claudette Robinson, 76, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home. Born on October 30th, 1948, in Halifax County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Pearlie Mae Smith Hudson.
Jeania was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, known for her tough, no-nonsense approach to life and its many challenges. She spent 30 years as a dedicated educator in the Detroit Public School System, where she touched the lives of many students. Outside of her career, Jeania was passionate about traveling, visiting far-reaching destinations such as Dubai, Africa, and Europe. Her love for quilting was another defining aspect of her life, and she was an active and cherished member of her local quilting community.
Jeania was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Pearlie Mae Smith Hudson; her stepfather, Garland Hudson; and her younger sister, Joyce Blanding.
She is survived by her children, Oshera and Jeremy Robinson; her seven grandchildren: Anthony, Taja, Shannon, James, Samera, Courtney, and Jeania; and her great-grandchild, Ai Yanni. She is also survived by her brothers, Melvin Hudson and Garland Pate, as well as her closest aunt and uncle, Atermerall and Linwood Smith (Colby). She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family: Verman Smith (Hazel), Thurman Smith (Linda), Ronald Smith (Venessa), Timothy Smith (Levella), her nephew JB, niece Torasha, and a host of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Jeania’s strength, generosity, and love for those around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will continue to inspire for years to come.
