Obituary

     Jeremy Lamuel Motley was born on June 9, 1997, at Womack Army Medical in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Latoshia Motley and Rhodus Nichols. On July 3, 2023, Jeremy passed away at ECU North in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

     Jeremy attended Northampton County Public Schools and Weldon City Schools, and he received his high school diploma from Penn Forster High School in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Jeremy was employed by JR Motley’s Landscaping Services. That of which he often referred to as the “Family Business.” Jeremy also played drums for The Daughters of the Travelers and Piney Grove Church.

     Jeremy enjoyed playing basketball, playing the drums, drawing, crafting beats, writing and recording rap music. He was known for his skills on the court, his gift and ear for music, his courage, honesty, loyalty, compassion, infectious laugh, and his jovial spirit.

     Jeremy was preceded in death by his Great grandparents, Lucious and Mildred Motley and William(Buck) and Marjorie Boone; his Godfather, Deacon Russell Boone.

     Jeremy leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Latoshia Motley; his aunt and godmother, Rose Motley (Steve Sumner); his children, Zayden Cheek-Motley and Tanazia Graham; his grandparents, Gloria & Nate Branch and William & Dawn Boone; his “Passenger Princess,” Lovelle Logan and his bonus son, Sincere Jiggetts; his aunts and uncles, Delmeshia Jones, Barbara Plum (Roy), Thomas Williams, Malinda Motley, Otha Motley (Connie), Tony Cotton (Lorie), Elder Tammy Gatling, Stacey Barnes, Eunice (Roger) Peterson, Jeanine Grant, Susan Phipps, Shalena Powell, Sadie Boone, Shaelin Boone, Melvin Boone (Debbie), Gloria Plumb; his father, Rhodus Nichols, Sr.; his siblings, Rhodus Nichols, Jr., Rhodina Nichols, and Malekia Smith; special cousins, Reverend Doctor Dianne Motley, Chelsie Chavis and Kevon Long, Jr., Roise Sledge, Naja Gatling, Reverend Elijah Gatling; godparents, Gregory Motley (Pam) and Quenna Motley and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
