Jerry Jerman Obituary

Weep not for me though I am gone, Into that gentle night.

Grieve if you will, but not for long, Upon my soul’s sweet flight

I am at peace, my soul’s at rest, There is no need for tears.

For with your love I was so blessed, For all those many years.

There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone.

Put now these things out of your thoughts, In your memory I live on.

Remember not my fight for breath, Remember not the strife,

Please do not dwell upon my death, But celebrate my life.

JERRY CARL JERMAN, son of the late Palmer and Lela Buffaloe Jerman, was born on Sunday, February 9th, 1964, in Seaboard, North Carolina. He was the youngest of six children and was raised in a loving, Christian home where the values of faith, family, and community were deeply rooted.

Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Northampton County School System and later served his country with pride as a soldier in the United States Army. After returning home, he renewed his commitment to Mt. Zion and later developed a strong connection with Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Jackson, North Carolina. There, he faithfully participated in Sunday School, Bible Study, and worship services, finding joy in learning and sharing God’s word.

On Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, Jerry peacefully transitioned while sitting in his favorite place outside his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Larry D. Jerman and Jerry L. Odom, and his sister, Evelyn O. Harris. On that day, God called His beloved servant from earthly labor to eternal rest. Jerry’s work here is done, and he now rests safely in the arms of the Lord.

Affectionately known as “Biker Boy” by family and friends, Jerry had a vibrant personality and a heart full of kindness. He loved riding his bike, sharing laughter, studying the Bible, spreading God’s word, and praying with and for others. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Jasmine Jerman of Houston, Texas; her mother, Melissa Kimble of Houston, Texas; and mother, Georgia Jerman of Jackson, North Carolina. He is also survived by his sisters Geraldine Jerman (Norman) Langford of Seaboard, North Carolina; Pamela Jerman of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; Delois Pernell of Jackson, North Carolina; and his sister-at-heart, Iris Williams of Garysburg, North Carolina. His brothers include Michael (Cynthia) Jerman of Newark, New Jersey; Ronnie Jerman of Jackson, North Carolina; and Edward Odom of Gaston, North Carolina.

Jerry also leaves behind special friends Betty Jean Joyner of Lasker, North Carolina; Samuel Sykes, Jr.; Otis (Betty) Deloatch of Jackson, North Carolina; and Hershey Deloatch of Seaboard, North Carolina. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, Randy Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
