John Louis Deloatch, beloved son of the late Norman Deloatch, Sr. and Lucy Ramsey Deloatch, was born on January 6th, 1952, in Northampton County, North Carolina. On Saturday, October 26th, 2024, he peacefully departed this life at Caswell Developmental Center in Kinston, North Carolina, to claim his eternal victory.
At an early age, John Louis united in Christian fellowship with Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, North Carolina, where he began his faith journey. He continued to worship and find spiritual peace at Caswell, holding onto his faith even as his health declined.
During his time at Caswell, John Louis embraced life’s simple pleasures with joy and resilience. He spent hours crafting in his workshop, relished his daily trips to the canteen, and found solace in music, particularly “Walking to New Orleans” by Fats Domino, which held a special place in his heart.
John Louis’s memory lives on in the hearts of his family: his sisters, Florine Deloatch of Woodland, North Carolina and Rebecca Diggs of Abingdon, Maryland; his special nieces, Stacy Barnes of Woodland, North Carolina and Emma Eaton of Chesapeake, Virginia; and his special nephew, Tracy Barnes of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and his cherished Caswell family.
In addition to his parents, John Louis has now rejoined his siblings in eternal peace: Clarissa Peebles, Mary Lou Edwards, Helen Deloatch Parker, Odell Clark, Norman Deloatch, Jr., Robert Lee Deloatch, Hannah Parker, Kattie Blunt, Dorothy Quarles, Josephine Barnes, and Shirleen Peebles. May they all rest together in a blessed reunion.
"God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So, He gently closed your eyes, and whispered, “John Louis, peace be thine.”
The weary hours, the days of pain, and the sleepless nights are past.
The ever-patient, worn-out frame has found sweet relief at last."
John Louis Deloatch’s journey has come full circle, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
