Johnny Calvin Barnes

  Johnny Calvin Barnes, son of the late  Johnnie Sedan Barnes and Beatrice Barnes, was born on Tuesday, September 28, 1948, in Hertford County, North Carolina.
      On Thursday, December 24, 2021; while in the care of the Brian Center of Hertford, North Carolina, our dear loved one peacefully departed this earthly life.   In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Abrams and three brothers, Dwight Barnes, Norfleet Barnes and Michael Barnes.
      Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of:  two daughters, Latoya Barnes and Christie Barnes; one son, Justin Barnes all of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; dear friend and the mother of his children,  Connie Francis Lewis; six grandchildren, Iyanna Mason, Idreius Mason, Trishelle Mason, Cheyenna Reynolds, Thomas Reynolds Jr. and Christian Deloatch; five sisters, Celestine Barnes of Maryland, Barbara Melton of Winton, North Carolina, Sandra Long of Greensboro, North Carolina, Lori McGlohone and Lisa Blakeney both of Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives  and friends.

A million times we've needed you, A million times we've cried,
If love alone could have saved you,  You never would have died
In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place, No one else can ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone
For apart of us went with you, The day God took you home.
