For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears
for a little time and then vanishes away.

JOSEPH WILLIE LUNDY, JR. was born on Wednesday March 18th, 1936, to the late Joseph and Bertha Lundy, Sr. He passed away on Tuesday, December 24th, 2024.
Reared in Southampton County, Virginia, ‘Junior’, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, received his education in the same region.
He was a devoted member of Galilee Baptist Church and cherished attending services prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Junior retired from Hancock Peanut Company in 2000, after dedicating over forty-two years to the company. Following his retirement, he took on part-time roles as a bus driver for Southampton Public Schools and as a trash collector for the town of Courtland.
Junior embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time in his garage. He collaborated with Jackie Robertson to produce fresh sausage for several years.
He was deeply cherished by his family, particularly his nieces and nephews, for whom he would go to great lengths, and they reciprocated that affection.
Junior is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred, his daughters Joyce (Wayne) of Capron, Virginia, Tammy (Wendell) of Boykins, Virginia, and Laverne (Alan) of Wakefield, Virginia; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters, Mae Cavion and Bernice, one brother, Johnny, one sister-in-law, Ollie, three brothers-in-law, Ronnie, Charlie (Vicky), and Forest (Florine), and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Lundy's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
