Kathy (Lundy) Jones

     Kathy Lundy Jones, was born on Thursday, May 5, 1960 to the parentage of Joseph and Mildred Lundy, Jr. Being reared and educated in Southampton County, Virginia, she graduated from Southampton High School - Class of 1978.

     Kathy was a devoted member of the Galilee Baptist Church, Branchville, Virginia, attending worship services regularly, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. She loved Galilee and her church family dearly.

     In 2022, Kathy retired from the Greensville County Public School System. She enjoyed her job and the friendship shared with her coworkers.  Her  hobbies included cooking, talking on the telephone and collecting snow globes. Most importantly, she loved her two sons dearly and the two daughters she gained. She truly adored her one year old grandson, whom she spoke of often.

     On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, while in the care of Bon Secours Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center, Emporia, Virginia, Kathy transitioned from this earthly tabernacle unto a house not made with hands; eternal in the heavens.

     Our family is a circle of strength and love, with every birth and every union, the circle will grow, every joy shared adds more love, every crisis faced together, makes the circle stronger. Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: two sons, B.J. (Genice) of Texas and Brandon (Kelsey) of Hampton, Virginia; one grandson, Braylen; her parents, Junior and Mildred Lundy of Branchville, Virginia; three sisters, Joyce (Wayne Sr.), Tammy (Wendell) and Laverne (Alan); her nieces & nephews, D’Andre, Mooky (Nona), Wayne Jr. (Nicole), Joe, A.J., Morgan, Devir and Tamra; five aunts, Ollie, Mae Cavion, Bernice, Trudy and Catherine; four uncles, Ronnie, Charles (Vickie), Forrest (Florine) and Johnny; her former mother-in-law, Margaret; sister-in-law, Norma; brother-in-law, Maurice (Gayle); high school friends, Beverly Turner Hobbs and Suzette Darden; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mrs. Jones' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
