Leathel 'Lee' Lashley

     Leathel Lashley, daughter of the late James ‘Bubba’ Lashley and Gladys Otelia ‘OT’ Scott Lashley, began her journey through life on Wednesday, February 14, 1951 in Northampton County, North Carolina.

     ‘Lee’, as she was affectionately called by her loving family and friends, was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. In her early adult years, she worked at a local poultry farm. As life progressed, she gained employment in the hospitality industry, where she worked for 24 years with Motel 6 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, before retiring in 2018.

      As a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Leathel enjoyed her time spent with family and close friends.

      On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, while in the serenity of her home, Leathel Lashley peacefully transitioned from this earthly tabernacle unto a house not made with hands; eternal in the heavens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her daughter, Brenda Faye Lashley; one sister, Juanita Lashley and two brothers, James Lee Lashley and Douglas Wayne Lashley.

      Our family is a circle of strength and love, with every birth and every union, the circle will grow, every joy shared adds more love, every crisis faced together, makes the circle stronger. Cherished memories will forever remain the hearts of: her devoted children, Melvin Lashley of the home, Rose Garner (Edward), John Lashley and Sylvia Harvey all of Gaston, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Cameron G. Foster, III of Petersburg, Virginia, JeCori Garner, Lavar Garner, JaCody Garner, Kyvon Harris and Bryanna Williams all of Gaston, North Carolina; one sister, Donnie High of Garysburg, North Carolina; three nephews, one whom she reared as her own, James Lashley of Gaston North Carolina; two nieces; her life partner and companion, J. L. Wilkins High of the home; three amazing women, whom she held very near and dear to her heart, Claudette Atkins, Vanessa Garner and Polly Owens Banks all of Gaston, North Carolina; a host of other relatives and friends.
