Linwood Morris Obituary

Linwood Ray Morris was born on Sunday, December 13th, 1953, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to the late Eley and Pauline Morris. He peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Woodland, surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong farmer, Linwood dedicated much of his life to working the land and later continued his passion with Morris Farms until his health no longer allowed. When he wasn’t in the field and the weather was fair, Linwood could often be found on the golf course enjoying a game with family and friends.

He was a devoted husband, a proud and loving “Dada,” a caring brother, and a treasured friend. Linwood's presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed and more cherished than words can ever express.

Linwood's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, especially his beloved spouse, Elizabeth; his daughters, Nancy Godfrey (Ray) and Phyllis Robinson (Andy); his grandchildren, Roslynn Morris (Hunter), James Lynn, Brianna Robinson, Mackenzie Robinson, Sandy Godfrey, and Grace Godfrey; and his great-granddaughter, Heartley Mitchell.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Martha Cash, Brenda Spence (Richard), Eddie Morris (Sarah), and Peggy Daughtry (Robert); a close family friend and sister-at-heart, Yvonne Collier (Perry Lee); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

Linwood’s legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
