Lisa Buffaloe Obituary

“All my life YOU have been faithful. All my life YOU have been so, so good.

With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God.”

On Monday, March 31st, 2025, our beloved LISA LINETTE BUFFALOE, after a courageous battle, quietly entered eternal rest at ECU North Hospital - Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Born on Wednesday, September 15th, 1972, in Northampton County, North Carolina, to the late Gladys Jean Buffaloe, Lisa’s life was one of unwavering strength, deep love, and boundless kindness.

Lisa’s journey began in Northampton County, where she was reared and educated in the public school system. A proud graduate of Northampton County High School, Class of 1990, she went on to touch the lives of many through her work. She held various roles throughout her life, including at Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (formerly Hampton Woods), Rural Health Group, Royalty Finance, and Bon Secours Health Systems, always showing dedication and care in everything she did.

From an early age, Lisa embraced Christ through fellowship at the Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Garysburg, North Carolina., where she remained a steadfast member throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding force, and she was a god-fearing woman who always offered words of encouragement to those in need of strength. Lisa’s warmth, compassion, and unwavering spirit were a light to all who knew her. Even in the face of illness, she remained resilient and determined, embodying grace and strength at every turn.

Lisa was a devoted mother, a loving sister, and a cherished friend. She was the proud mother of two sons, Jamal Deloatch (Winter Jones) of Roanoke Rapids and Justin Deloatch of Conway, and the doting grandmother of her beloved grandson, Kai Deloatch. She was the loving sister of Kimberly Buffaloe of Weldon; the cherished aunt of Deshawn and Deontrell, Kimtasia and Tanayjah and the compassionate niece of Nell Jackson (Steve) of Jackson and Sylvia Stephenson of Roanoke Rapids.

Lisa’s warmth extended far beyond her family. She was blessed with close friendships that became her chosen family. Her lifelong best friends, Patricia Branch of Roanoke Rapids and Shirley Patterson of Jackson, stood by her side through thick and thin.

Lisa’s former spouse, Reginald Deloatch of Conway, with whom she shared over twenty years of marriage, remains a part of her enduring legacy, as together they reared their sons and created lasting memories.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and the unwavering belief that kindness can change the world. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her beautiful soul will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her, both near and far.

Lisa’s memory will live on in the hearts of her sons, her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
