Obituary

“COME UNTO ME ALL YE THAT LABOUR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST”

~ Matthew 11: 28

Lloyd Pitman, son of Lois Ramsey Williams and Floyd Pitman Sr., began his journey through life on Thursday, September 4, 1969, in Newark, New Jersey.

‘Weasel’, as he was fondly called by his family and friends, was always a curious, active child, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to “Ole School” R&B and watching funny videos on social media. He spent most of his childhood in New Jersey, until his parents separated and his mother decided to migrate the family to a small town in North Carolina.

Lloyd graduated from Northampton County School- East, Class of 1989. He soon entered the workforce, holding various positions of employment until his health declined. Lloyd was never one to complain. He learned to survive with what he had.

‘Weasel’ was not a religious man, he was a spiritual man, who maintained a relationship with Christ. He received the salvation of the Lord, one night in December of 1998. Although not remaining faithful, he dabbled in the world for a long period of time, until he heard the voice of the LORD through his son on February 5, 2023. Lloyd went to the altar of the church that Sunday and rededicated his life to Jesus. On the following Sunday, as he was getting prepared for church service, Lloyd suddenly passed away while in the serenity of his home.

Lloyd leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish many fond memories: his beloved wife, Tamica Williams Pitman; his children, Rashad Pitman, Lashawn Pitman, Lloyd Pitman (Janaya), Shakayla Pitman, Saiveon Pitman and Azerian Burgess; two children-at-heart, Kyesha Williams and Marquice Williams; eleven grandchildren; his mother, Lois Williams; two sisters, Flodine Jefferson, Colette Taylor (Curtis); three brothers, Floyd Pitman, Jr., Ibn Ballah and Kevin; one sister-in-law, Tammy Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Jacobs, Jr. and Marquay Jacobs; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

We thought of you today, but that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday and the day before that too.

We think of you in silence and often speak your name.

Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.

God has you in His keeping and we have you in our hearts!
